Rimto Ltd Joins DFK International

We are delighted to welcome Rimto Ltd as the newest member of DFK International.

Rimto Ltd is a Japan-based accounting and advisory firm supporting domestic and international businesses with complex financial, accounting, transaction and cross-border matters. The firm’s team combines experience from major professional services firms with a practical and flexible approach tailored to each client’s needs. Working regularly in both Japanese and English, Rimto Ltd acts as a bridge between Japanese companies, overseas parent companies, investors and professional advisers.

The firm’s services span accounting and financial reporting advisory, IFRS and Japanese GAAP support, consolidation and group reporting, and internal controls, internal audit and J-SOX support. On the transactions side, Rimto Ltd advises on M&A financial and tax due diligence, vendor due diligence, post-merger integration, carve-outs, purchase price allocation and transaction accounting. It also provides cross-border tax and accounting advisory, overseas subsidiary management, Japan market-entry and subsidiary support, management reporting and outsourced finance support, and IPO and audit-readiness support.

Rimto Ltd serves clients across a wide range of sectors, including technology and software, manufacturing, professional services, consumer and retail, entertainment, real estate, start-ups and growth companies, international groups and foreign-owned businesses, and private equity and M&A-related clients.

We spoke with Masato Sakai, Chief Executive Officer of Rimto Ltd, about the firm’s decision to join the association.

What motivated you to join DFK International?

“As Rimto continues to support clients with increasingly international and cross-border needs, we wanted to become part of a trusted global association of high-quality independent firms. DFK International’s strong international presence, collaborative culture and emphasis on long-term professional relationships were particularly attractive to us.”

Why is international collaboration important to your firm?
“Many of our clients operate across multiple jurisdictions or are considering overseas expansion, investment or acquisitions. International collaboration enables us to provide them with coordinated, practical and locally informed support. It also allows us to respond more effectively to complex accounting, tax, transaction and regulatory matters that span different countries.”

What can DFK members gain from working with you?
“Rimto can provide DFK members and their clients with responsive, commercially focused support in Japan. Our team has extensive experience in audit, accounting advisory, transaction services, international tax and cross-border project management. We are particularly well placed to assist foreign businesses entering Japan, overseas groups managing Japanese subsidiaries, and firms requiring bilingual coordination between Japanese and international stakeholders.”

What stood out to you during the joining process?
“What stood out most was the personal and welcoming approach throughout the process. We greatly valued the opportunity to speak with DFK representatives and members, understand the culture of the organisation and discuss how we could contribute to the alliance. The process felt thoughtful, professional and relationship-driven, which gave us confidence that DFK would be a strong fit for our firm.”

Any other thoughts or comments you would like to share?
“We are very pleased to have joined DFK International and look forward to developing meaningful relationships with fellow members. We hope to contribute actively, exchange knowledge and create opportunities to support clients together across borders.”
