A high-flyer with Hummelkläppen in Stockholm is the first winner of the DFK EMEA Young Professional of the Year Award.
Anelle Weigle, aged 25, was presented with the title at this year’s DFK EMEA conference held in Prague.
The Award was launched to promote the talent and skills of young professionals within the region and the winner was voted for by the DFK EMEA Executive Committee.
Within just two years of joining Hummelkläppen as a payroll specialist, Anelle has risen to head of payroll and office manager, as well as taking on a range of other responsibilities.
Anelle said: “It feels great to win this award and I would like to thank DFK. I’m honoured as well as surprised.
“When I joined Hummelkläppen, I was prepared to work as a payroll specialist for a long time and never expected to progress as quickly. If it wasn’t for the firm’s trust and belief in me, I wouldn’t have had this opportunity. I want to progress further and stay forever!
“I think it’s great that this Award has been launched to recognise young professionals. Even though you are young, you should always believe in yourself and be inspired by others, soaking up as much information as you can as well as contributing with your own thoughts and ideas.”
In nominating Anelle, Tommy Nilsson, managing partner of Hummelkläppen, said she excelled in many areas including her quality of work, client satisfaction, acquiring new clients, teaching and taking care of new employees.
He said: “A better role model is not possible to find. Anelle’s fast advancement in our firm is something we have never seen before and we are very happy that she has received this Award.
“DFK has very good training in place for young professionals and this Award is a great continuation of that work and will hopefully inspire others. It shows that if you are engaged, it is possible to advance.”
Anne Brady, Vice-President of DFK EMEA, said the Award builds on DFK’s strong commitment to the next generation of leaders, which includes supporting young professionals with training and networking opportunities.
Anne said: “Over the last few years, DFK has been focusing on promoting the next generation of leaders. We held a Future Leaders’ Summit in 2018 and regularly have Young Professionals’ Conferences.
“The Award is a progression from that and the idea behind it is to promote the talent and skills of young professionals.
“The winner had to demonstrate they were an emerging leader and they had to show excellence, creativity and initiative in their work.
“Anelle is a relative newcomer to the firm in Sweden and is now on the management committee so she has risen very quickly.
“She has also taken on the role of inducting new staff into the firm which shows a lot of initiative and brought in new clients which again is not something a more junior staff member would normally do.
“Anelle is a role model for young professionals and we were delighted to welcome her to the conference to receive her Award, and hope her achievement will inspire other young people.”
