Overview
The purpose of DFK’s Valuation Services Special Interest Group is to enhance the knowledge and quality of valuation services of member firms by raising awareness of new valuation issues and sharing knowledge and best practices.
Members of the Group accomplish this purpose by identifying and developing certain industries, business types and valuation issues in which they have deep valuation capability and build on that through raising awareness and sharing knowledge across DFK firms.
The sharing of ideas, knowledge and best practices is conducted through discussion in virtual quarterly meetings, in-person training, international conferences and through the use of guest speakers. The Special Interest Group also selectively makes contributions to regulators and policymakers of oversight organisations.
In addition, the Group is a forum for making referrals to DFK member firms based on expertise and geographical area.
Meet the Chair
Ron Martindale
Determining the true value of a business should not rely on speculation. By leveraging the collective expertise and experience across the association, we effectively eliminate this requirement for our members. Most recently we’ve been tackling the integration of AI into valuation practices – proof that while the technology is impressive, it still needs experienced human judgement behind it. My aim is to keep the group a place where members can bring real, current challenges and leave with practical answers.
